Breathe in. Breathe out.
It is such a pleasure today to finally open a new page on MakingSociety.com and write. I have been thinking about this moment for a while now.
I have been focusing on an incredibly exciting project.
Exactly 3 years ago in early December 2015 I joined TechShop – Ateliers Leroy Merlin, one of the most dynamic makerspace project of France. For those of you who knew TechShop Inc. or have been hanging out at TechShop Tokyo or Abu Dhabi, you might be very familiar with the concept.
A massive and very well equipped maker space, an ingenious team of experts ready to help and a focus on building a loving collaborative community.
What not to love in this project! If you remember, I joined TechShop San Francisco back in 2011 when the space opened, and never looked back. I feel very grateful to be able to participate to the expansion of the maker movement in France with a project that is already reaching many people and changing lifes.
TechShop in France is backed by worldwide DIY retailer Leroy Merlin, which is one the most loved DIY store in France and is also the main sponsor of Maker Faire France.
I start this new chapter of MakingSociety with the intend of bringing you value and inspiration through my research, ideas, projects and encounters with the maker movement. I think the maker spirit is a key element of building the future of the planet, humanity, our relationships between each others and all living creatures. More than ever, now is the time to bring the values and practices of the maker movement into action.
Let’s do it.
